Hello!

Welcome to my blog. I document my college years in the form of music playlists. Hope you have a nice stay!

Cliffs Along The Sea

Cliffs Along The Sea

Right now I'm curled up in a fluffy chair watching Elf, editing pictures, eating cold pizza, and writing. My heart feels so full & content right now. This week really hasn't been stellar, but I am ending it feeling peaceful.

Remember my very first week of college when I did things like break my coffee pot while trying to make Ramen? Yeah, me too. I thought that with a little experience under my belt, second semester might start a little better.

NOPE!

Okay, maybe it did. Maybe it was just different and not as smooth as I hoped and that's okay. Maybe I picked up my books a few days late and that's okay. Maybe my only friend in Econ 101 straight up ditched me and that's okay!! (I made a new friend in Econ, so I am excited about that)

The real kicker of the week was Wednesday when my the keyboard & track pad on my computer decided that they just didn't want to work with my anymore, resulting in a trip all the way to Des Moines to visit the Apple Store. S/o to Patrick (?) from Apple who tried to help me fix my computer (but it's too broken so I'll get it fix next week...). Patrick is from Boston and has been working for Apple for 6 years. He moved to Des Moines two years ago to help a friend whose parent was sick. He's a really rad dude.

So that plus my selfish heart resulted in an antsy, impatient, and discontent week, not gonna lie. I don't want to forget that this week I felt things that weren't butterflies & rainbows.

But good stuff also happened this week - I was able to buy five pizzas & have people that I love over to eat it. Someone anonymously blessed me with an unexpected financial gift (sincere thank-you to whoever you are). I spent my post-Apple Care day taking photos & drinking coffee with two rad humans. I got to sit in the car talking with one of my best friends for an hour.

^Zero of these things are deserved at all. I have been a terrible friend this week, internally if not externally. I just have really great people in my life who love me so much that they make it a priority to spend time with me and demonstrate their care for me.

I discovered Cliffs Along The Sea by Bryan John Appleby earlier this week via my Discover Weekly playlist. It's right up my alley stylistically, and I adore it lyrically. It's a song of wishing & longing, but it's a song that reminds me to feel yet be patient because not all of life is going to go ideally (according to me), but there are so many beautiful, little details to hold on to. Have a sweet day, my friends.
